Fourth annual Iowa Women's Music Festival is Sept. 13
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The fourth annual Iowa Women's Music Festival will
be Saturday, Sept. 13, on the University of Iowa Arts campus near Hancher
Auditorium. The event, which begins at noon, is free and open to the public.
The Iowa Women's Music Festival is designed to put a spotlight on female
performers and artists from Iowa and other parts of the Midwest. Featured
performers this year include Iowa City vocal harmony ensemble Too Much
Yang, progressive folk singer-songwriters Jennifer Danielson and Bejae

with an 8 p.m. Hancher performance by Sweet Honey in the Rock, a six-woman

history, and future of African-American culture for more than 20 years.
Tickets are required for the Hancher event.
The festival will also feature arts and crafts vendors, tae kwon do
and self defense demonstrations, and an open microphone area.
