Virtual Hospital Human Brain site wins award

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- If you wonder what the human brain looks like, but are too squeamish to get up close and personal, check out The Human Brain: Dissections of the Real Brain at

The Virtual Hospital book, created by Drs. Terence Williams and Jean Jew, University of Iowa professors in the department of anatomy, won a "Best of the Web" award from Snap! Online this month.

"This is the best of the best," said Teresa Choi, program assistant in radiology and designer of the Virtual Hospital. She said the site is used by medical students and others interested in human brain anatomy. The site shows sections of the human brain with the various areas labeled and described.
