WRAC to discuss how to be an ally to lesbians/gays/bisexuals/ transgendered
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The Women's Resource and Action Center at the University
of Iowa is planning a panel discussion, "How to be an Ally to the
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered Community," on Tuesday, June
10, from 7-9 p.m., at the Iowa City Public Library, Meeting Room A.
The discussion, which is free and open to the public, is co-sponsored
by University Counseling Services and the UI Office of Affirmative Action.
Panel members are Kelly Willson, counselor at University Counseling
Services; Cari Malone, a parent; Maria Oropeza, volunteer coordinator
at the Women's Resource and Action Center; and Courtney Reed-Jenkins, a
supportive ally and friend.
June is known as Pride Month, the month in which gay, lesbian, bisexual,
transgender people celebrate their diversity.
