IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Each year, graduating medical students at the University of Iowa and other schools across the country gather with family and friends to find out where they will spend the next several years in medical residency programs. Match Day is an important event in the education of new physicians -- one filled with excitement and celebration.

Fourth-year medical students at the UI College of Medicine will receive word of their residency matches at 11 a.m. Officials from the college will be on hand to discuss what the results of this year's match say about this year's graduating class and medical education in Iowa. Students and their families will also be available to share their reactions to the news.
