Program highlights study abroad experiences of five women

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The study abroad experiences of five University of Iowa women students will be the topic of a program at 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 11 in the North Lounge of Currier Hall. The event is sponsored by the Women's Resource and Action Center and is free and open to the public.

UI students who will discuss how their experiences in other countries and cultures have enriched their world views are Rebecca Chacko, a sophomore from Ames who studied in Costa Rica; Gena Wells, a junior from Dolton, Ill., who studied in Venezuela; Rima Vesely, a senior from Chicago who studied in South Africa; Sonja Hansen, a senior from Iowa City, who went to the Dominican Republic; and Brooke Thacher, a senior from Lamont, Iowa, who studied in Wales.

The program is co-sponsored by the Office of International Education and Services Study Abroad Center, Currier-Stanley Residence Assistants, and the Undergraduate Women's Studies Association. For more information, call WRAC at (319) 335-1486.
