WSUI will broadcast "Presidential Voices" live on Sunday, Feb.
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Radio Station WSUI (AM 910) will present a live broadcast
of "Presidential Voices," a forum featuring four University of Iowa
presidents at Hancher Auditorium on Sunday, Feb. 23, from 3 to 5 p.m. The
event is part of the UI's Founders Day Celebration, marking the 150th anniversary
of the UI's founding.
Tickets still remain for the forum, which is free and open to the public.
They can be obtained by calling the Hancher Box Office at (319) 335-1160 or
1-800-HANCHER. Tickets will also be available for walk-ups to the Box Office
on Sunday, beginning at 1 p.m.
"Presidential Voices" will feature UI President Mary Sue Coleman
and her three immediate predecessors: Willard L. (Sandy) Boyd, James O. Freedman,
and Hunter Rawlings III. Boyd with lead off the forum with a talk titled "Education
-- Iowa's Never-Ending Frontier." Rawlings will follow with a talk on
"American Universities at the End of the 20th Century." Freedman
will then speak about "The Future of Higher Education." Coleman
will respond to the comments of the other presidents. If time permits, the
presidents will take questions from the audience.
