Half-day seminar for business executives offered Sept. 12 at UI
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- A nationally known Iowa consultant will lead a half-day
seminar for business executives on how to develop low-cost marketing strategies
Friday, Sept. 12, as part of the "Inc. Magazine Executive Seminar"
series at the University of Iowa.
Larry Mersereau, an author and consultant based in West Des Moines, will
lead "Shoestring Marketing" from 8 a.m. to noon in the Terrace Room
of the Iowa Memorial Union.
The registration fee is $99. For additional people from the same company,
the fee is $79 per person.
The seminar is presented by the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center and
the Small Business Development Center of the UI College of Business Administration
with support from Hills Bank and Trust Co.
"Shoestring Marketing" will cover the five "building blocks"
of marketing: market research, pricing, distribution, product development
and promotion. The seminar will focus on low- and no-cost marketing ideas
and the motivation to apply them.
