Stepping Up Project to co-host training session for alcohol licensees
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- A free information and training session conducted by the
Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division (IABD) and co-hosted by the Stepping Up
Project will be offered Tuesday, Aug. 5, in Buchanan Auditorium of the Pappajohn
Business Administration Building on the campus of the University of Iowa.
The training session is being offered at two times, 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.
All Johnson County holders of licenses to sell alcoholic beverages are invited
to attend one of the 90-minute training sessions, which will include a video
produced by the IABD and will provide information on bar check procedures,
fake IDs, and recent changes in Iowa laws regarding the sale of alcohol. There
will also be time for questions.
The sessions are being co-hosted by the Stepping Up Project, a University
of Iowa and Iowa City/Coralville community coalition which is interested in
finding ways to reduce excessive drinking among college students and to reduce
the negative effects that excessive alcohol consumption has on others.
