Student awarded University of Iowa Student Government Self Help Scholarship

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- (Name) of (hometown), a (class standing) in (major or program) was recently awarded the University of Iowa Student Government Self Help Scholarship. The UI Student Government funds a $325 self-help scholarship to provide financial assistance to students who are working at least 15 hours a week to put themselves through school. Awards were determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid and were distributed by the UISG executive cabinet. "Student government acknowledges those hardworking students who are putting themselves through school," says Marc Beltrame, former Student Government President. "Working and keeping up with studies can be a struggle, so we want to assist these students with a small, but much deserved scholarship."
