Gerhild Krapf Greenhoe Named Assistant To Vice President For University Relations

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Gerhild Krapf Greenhoe has been named assistant to the vice president for university relations at the University of Iowa, effective April 21. Ann Rhodes, vice president for university relations, announced the appointment.

"I am very excited that Gerhild has joined us," Rhodes said. "She brings a unique combination of skills and experience and a deep understanding of the university that will be of tremendous assistance to me and the university community."

The assistant to the vice president provides general staff support to the vice president for university relations in the areas of policy development and review, athletics, and external relations. Duties include oversight of revisions to the university's Operations Manual, drafting policies, and monitoring policy development and review for incorporation into the Manual. Other duties include dissemination of policies and planning for communication of policy changes, and development and review of policies, procedures and protocols related to units overseen by the vice president for university Relations. The assistant to the vice president for university relations is also responsible for the development, oversight, and management of an alumni network, and communication with alumni about the university.

Since 1986, Krapf Greenhoe has served as staff legal counsel and assistant to the director of the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. In that position, she has primary responsibility for coordinating UIHC's interactions with members of the general assembly and monitoring legislative and regulatory issues with potential impact on the health sciences center. In addition, she has been the administrator for Friends of the UIHC and the UIHC Child Care Center and has provided administrative support for the UIHC Volunteer Program. She also has been an active member of the Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce and served on its board of directors from 1993-96.

Krapf Greenhoe, an accomplished organist, holds Master of Music and Bachelor of Music degrees, as well as a JD degree, all from the UI.
