CICS offers summer workshops for Iowa teachers
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa Center for International and Comparative

on the Internet, teach how to access this information and demonstrate how
to place information on the web. The schedule includes lab time, during which
participants will participate in guided tours through complexities of the
World Wide Web, as well as lecture and discussion time.
The French and Francophone film workshop will focus on how film is used to
interpret and understand specific geographical areas, historical eras and
concepts. Teachers also will be exposed to the wide range of international
film resources available at the UI.
The China workshop will focus on how China may develop over the next several
decades, and how that change may affect political stability, the environment
and the distribution of power and influence around the world. Workshop participants
also will explore U.S.-China relations.
The CICS workshops are funded by a Title VI National Resource Center grant
from the U.S. Department of Education, a grant from the Stanley-UI Support
