HANCHER BOX OFFICES CLOSES DEC. 22-JAN. 5 FOR UI WINTER BREAK -- The Hancher Auditorium box office at the University of Iowa will be closed Sunday, Dec. 22, through Sunday, Jan. 5, for UI winter break.
The box office will re-open on Monday, Jan. 6, 1997, but will also be closed Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 11 and 12, and on Martin Luther King day, Monday, Jan. 20.

Regular box office hours are 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. weekdays, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday and 1-3 p.m. Sunday. From the local calling area or outside Iowa, dial (319) 335-1160. Long distance within Iowa and western Illinois is toll-free, 1-800-HANCHER. Fax to (319) 353-2284.

People with special needs for access, seating and auxiliary services should dial (319) 335-1158. This number will be answered by box office personnel prepared to offer assistance with handicapped parking, wheelchair access and seating, hearing augmentation and other services. The line is equipped with TDD for people with hearing impairment who use that technology.

UI MUSEUM OF ART CLOSES FOR THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY -- The University of Iowa Museum of Art will be closed to the public Monday, Dec. 23, through Christmas Day, Wednesday, Dec. 25, and New Year's Day, Wednesday, Jan. 1, 1997.

Museum galleries will be open to the public for their regular hours all other days of the UI winter break period: 10. a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m Sunday.

However, museum offices will be closed the entire week of Christmas, Monday through Friday Dec. 23-27, and on New Year's Day.

The UI Museum of Art is located on North Riverside Drive in Iowa City. Admission is free. Public metered parking is available in UI parking lots across from the museum on Riverside Drive, and adjacent to the UI Alumni Center, which is just north of the museum.
